My Project 52, in which I try to prove the existence of a domesticated gene in my body.

52 dishes for the year 2011. Yum!

3/52 Wicked Oreos!

Sorry for the really long intervals between my posts. Will try to cook more often and post it here. For now, I give you, Wicked Oreos!

1. Heat up deep frier. If not available, get a thick bottomed pot and fill it about halfway with oil.

2. Make pancake batter as package instructions. Preferably, use the vanilla flavored variety.

3. Dip oreos in the pancake batter. coat them evenly. 1 200g dry package of pancake batter should be enough to cover a bag of oreos (the cylindrical bag)

4. Deep fry oreos until golden brown. They will easily burn so keep your eyes on them. Every time you begin a new batch for frying, give the oil some time to heat up again as the previous batch will have probably brought down its temperature significantly.

5. Serve Wicked Oreos hot a la mode. Enjoy!

Ice-cream on top is a must! <3

2/52 Chicken Curry

Ingredients:

  • Half kilo of Chicken
  • (Golden Curry) Chicken Curry sauce
  • (Coconut King) Coconut Cream Powder
  • Ginger
  • Garlic
  • Potatoes

Chop potatoes then fry in low heat. Put aside. Saute garlic in another pan until it turns semi-brown. Chop ginger then add to pan. Chop chicken then add to pan. By this time, it will smell really good. Let the chicken turn semi-brown before adding the potatoes. Leave for 5-10 minutes. You can now add the chicken curry sauce. mix everything until the sauce is free of lumps. Then mix the coconut cream powder in a cup of water. Add to the mixture. Leave it for 5 minutes. Add salt and pepper to taste.

Here’s what my curry looks like.

I know it doesn’t look yummy but my brother said it was super delicious. @anondrogynous, come home early and taste my curry!

That’s two dishes down, fifty to go. :D

1/52: Tuna pasta on Tomato Chunks

Ingredients:

1 can of Tomato Chunks

1 can of Tuna

Garlic

Dried Parsley

250g of Fettucini Pasta

Olive oil

So how do you cook this thing? It’s really easy. Just saute garlic bits in Olive oil. Add Tuna when the garlic turns semi-brown. Put Tomato Chunks then voila, you now have pasta sauce!

Boil the fettucini pasta for 10 minutes. Rinse with cold water. Add the tuna sauce on top and sprinkle dried parsley for ~effect~

I like my pasta the Italian way. Which means I like it a bit sour, unlike the Filipino pasta which is just too sweet.  Tomato chunks are a sure way to get that Italian touch.

I know this dish is easy to make. GIVE ME A BREAK IT’S MY FIRST ENTRY OKAY.

So here’s the finished product!

Can’t wait for my next dish!
